Description: The candidate chosen for this position will assist in leading TPM’s efforts to sell and support Autodesk design solutions. Key duties in this position include handling and resolving technical support requests from users.  This position is ideal for a CAD user familiar with Autodesk design solutions.

TPM’s Application Engineer pool is a group of very supportive individuals. We all strive to help each other as well as our customers and co-workers. Continuing education from all aspects of our profession – not just around our core software is highly stressed. TPM works in many industries, so our Application Engineers have access to all kinds of experience in a variety of areas (A/E/C, manufacturing, business intelligence, IT, etc.). Our Application Engineers having been with TPM for up to 30 years in some cases, so we have a great and long standing group to interact with – come join us.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Handle incoming technical support requests from customers
  • Dispatch higher level support requests to the appropriate product specialists
  • Manage the technical support request queue
  • Communicating with our design and programming staff about suspected software problems
  • Help generate sales tools and materials that clearly articulate the advantages of Autodesk solutions
  • Recognize and pass on potential leads for customers that are uncovered during support calls.
  • Follow up calls to customers to make sure they are using and adopting their software.

QUALIFICATIONS:  The ideal candidate should have…

  • 1-3 years’ experience with Autodesk software (i.e. AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, etc.)
  • BS in Engineering a plus
  • Experience in other applications such as Microstation, ESRI, etc. would be a plus.
  • Experience helping users on software and/or supporting software applications in an organization preferred.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter, willing to travel (Primarily in the Carolinas but may extend to other locations in the US)
  • Ability to conduct self in group setting as a leader and expert
  • Ability to identify/troubleshoot problems and provide solutions
