Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) Accelerated Rendering

SOLIDWORKS Visualize is not limited to any hardware model; you can use it with a single or multiple GPUs to render images much faster than a CPU, allowing you to produce more content more quickly. By design, SOLIDWORKS Visualize is fast on all types of hardware, including entry-level laptops. It can also use NVIDIA’s latest GPU technology, like the NVIDIA Quadro VCA, to render even faster and more efficiently.

Hybrid Render Mode

SOLIDWORKS Visualize can use GPUs and CPUs simultaneously (in Hybrid mode) to speed up rendering. This mode can be done on a single machine or across a network, significantly improving performance, especially on entry-level devices.

Physically-Based Raytracing

SOLIDWORKS Visualize comes with three raytracing engines so that you can render photorealistic results no matter your device. Including NVIDIA’s Iray technology, AMD’s Radeon ProRender, and Dassault Systemes’ own Stellar Physically Correct engine for high-powered devices. Raytracing utilizes material properties to scatter and reflect light around a scene to ensure your renders are photorealistic.

Intuitive User Interface

SOLIDWORKS Visualize is a simple visualization tool that lets you quickly render pictures of your CAD data. It has a simplified UI with just five buttons in Easy Mode, new sub-tabs in the Palette, simplified Import and Render windows, and a dark/light theme option.

CAD and Graphic File Support

SOLIDWORKS Visualize supports CAD files in over 25 formats, including SOLIDWORKS native files, IGES, STEP, and OBJ. Visualize can export your image renders to standard image formats such as JPEG, PNG, and BMP, as well as TIFF and PSD for your marketing department. Visualize offers 32-bit color depth rendering into HDR and OpenEXR files for power users.

CAD Live-Update

Save over the existing Visualize file if you want to import design changes, and Visualize will only update the changed parts. Visualize will remember if you changed the color and keep that change on the newly updated part.

Surface/Part Splitter

This Part Splitter lets you easily split out parts, surfaces, and faces so that you can apply a different material or texture to each one. Making changes to materials or textures does not require returning to your original CAD package.

Interactive Depth of Field

Add more realism to your designs with Visualize’s Depth of Field feature. The feature allows you to select the point of focus with a single click and adjust the amount of blur, making it look like a real photo. You can also enter F-Stop and Aperture as you would on a physical camera.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Denoiser

With a single checkbox, you can decipher and eliminate noise from your Visualize renders, dramatically raising your render speed by 10x.

Advanced Material Support with NVIDIA MDL and PBR

With new industry-standard Appearance Types, you can import real-world samples into Visualize to reuse your existing measured materials database.

Decals (Interactive Stickers)

With Decals, it’s easy to add logos, graphics, and more. Decals support all Decal Mapping types from SOLIDWORKS CAD, and now you can choose from multiple mapping modes directly in Visualize for even more flexibility and control.

Custom Keyboard Shortcuts

Make custom keyboard shortcuts tailored to your preferences, then export your list to another machine. You can even choose single-key shortcuts.

Automatic Data Recovery

If your session ends abruptly, you can automatically retrieve saved data the next time you start a session. You can select how often to save auto-recovery data and which folder to save it.

XR Exporter for AR/VR experiences

Visualize projects can be exported to .glb or .glTF file format for use in Augmented Reality or Virtual Reality experiences or embedded directly into webpages, Word documents, and PowerPoints.

Support for high-resolution displays (4K monitors and beyond)

Visualize projects dynamically adapt to high-resolution displays.

High Dynamic Range

SOLIDWORKS Visualize supports utilizing and exporting to HDR files for more color depth, brighter brights, and ultra-deep blacks for a highly immersive experience on modern televisions and screens.

SOLIDWORKS PDM Integration

To access vault commands and view Visualize file information, use the integrated SOLIDWORKS PDM menu when the file is open in SOLIDWORKS Visualize.

Import SOLIDWORKS Animations and Motion Studies

The new Visualize add-in for SOLIDWORKS CAD makes it easy to create animations and motion studies in SOLIDWORKS Visualize Professional. CAD Live-Update also works with these animations, so any changes you make in SOLIDWORKS CAD will be reflected in Visualize.

Full Animation Suite

Use SOLIDWORKS Visualize Professional to tell your CAD story. You can easily create photo-quality videos by animating exploded views, flythroughs, part opacity, cameras, and more. Video file types available are MPG, FLV, and MKV.

Animation Ribbon

While setting up an animation, you can see a 3D representation of the camera or parts moving. Animators can edit complex animations using the Animation Ribbon, which shows the keyframes and the speed of moving objects.

Visualize Boost Support

SOLIDWORKS Visualize Boost is a new add-on product that speeds up rendering and content production. Like a printer queue, it allows users to send jobs to other machines, freeing up their device to keep using Visualize, CAD, or other demanding applications.

PowerBoost Real-time Network Rendering

Visualize Professional’s new PowerBoost render mode lets you connect to an NVIDIA VCA or other GPU/CPU render farm to stream raytracing directly to your Visualize Viewport. PowerBoost gives you access to more hardware than your local machine, resulting in breakneck render speeds.

Browser-based Interactive Image and Panoramic Outputs

These two eye-catching outputs are perfect for adding interactive content to your website or internal presentations. Engage your audience by bringing your CAD files to life. Using Interactive Images, you can turn your model into an interactive experience by automatically stitching still images together viewable from a single HTML file. A panoramic output teleports you inside your CAD data.

Customizable Photographic Camera Filters

To create professional-looking visuals in Visualize, adjust the exposure, brightness, color balance, contrast, and other settings directly inside the application. You can also animate camera filters for added artistic effect.

Integrated Render Queue

With the integrated Render Queue, you will instantly raise productivity by stacking up multiple jobs and allowing them to render when you are away.

Configurations

You can use Configurations to quickly create colorways, product variations, and other design choices. You can even view all Configurations in a single click.

New Area Lights and Light Placement

With new Area Lights, you can render complex interior scenes faster than ever, with picture-perfect shadows. Area Lights are also supported in Fast mode, which renders up to 8x faster than using traditional lights, and Accurate mode. With this new update, it’s even easier to interactively place your lights, with only a single click needed to place the light exactly where you want it.

Create VR Content

SOLIDWORKS Visualize Professional creates realistic images and animations that you can use to explore and review a scene or object. Easily set up your camera and click a button to generate VR content with 360 stereo images and animations. Supports any VR device, including HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Samsung Gear VR.

Integrated Physics Engine

To enable Physics, click the “enable” button and watch your items collide and fall just as they would in real life. Users can use the Earthquake tool to randomize or jitter the selected elements, saving time when setting up a scene.

Vehicle Driving Simulator

Visualize your future vehicle in photo quality with accurate real-time physics. It allows steering with the keyboard or controller while driving a car along a predefined path. In Real-time, adjust suspension, wheel friction, ride height, and more. You can then record the vehicle driving with a single click.

Video Decals

You can import videos or image sequences directly into Visualize, creating animations of products with LED screens. In an exploded animation, for example, the camera can pan across your product, adding interest to the animation.

IES Light Profiles

Use industry-standard IES Light Profiles to define a wall’s exact light pattern.
