Buyers Laboratory LLC, the world’s leading independent tester of document imaging products, awarded “Outstanding Achievement” accolades to the most energy-efficient models tested in the past eight months, with honors going to models from Brother, Canon, Dell, Konica Minolta, Oki Data, Ricoh, Samsung and Xerox. The winners exhibited significantly lower than average energy consumption for their respective product categories and offer a variety of environmentally friendly features to help users reduce their overall environmental impact.
At opposite ends of Canon’s product line, the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5255 and imageCLASS D530 earned BLI “Outstanding Achievement” awards for their substantially lower than average energy consumption during BLI’s environmental testing. While the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5255 offers speeds of 55 ppm in black mode and 51 ppm in color mode for the A3 copier-based MFP market, the imageCLASS D530 is a 26-ppm A4 monochrome MFP designed more for entry-level/personal printing. Yet despite their vastly different market segments, both devices achieved faster than average recovery times from sleep mode and offer job review and proof modes to reduce paper and consumables waste, which contributed to their five-star overall ratings.
